Enviro engineers start up in Dillon
A: Gore Range Engineering is a geotechnical and environmental consulting and design firm. We offer a broad range of geotechnical and environmental engineering services for commercial, residential and industrial construction projects. Our services include soils engineering for foundation design, engineered retaining wall design, septic design, wetland delineations and much more. We recommend that customers call us or visit our website for a full range of the services that we offer.
A: George Benecke is originally from Omaha, Nebraska and Jason Deem is originally from Parkersburg, West Virginia. Both of us have been in Summit County for several years working for another engineering firm. We both have young families and young children and are committed to raising them in Summit County. The county and surrounding areas present a unique opportunity to own and operate a small engineering firm due to the large volume of construction projects and small-business friendly atmosphere.
A: We have over 20 years combined experience in geotechnical and environmental engineering. Over 12 years of that has been in the Summit County and surrounding Colorado mountain region.
A: We offer services such as engineered retaining wall designs and environmental site assessments that are not currently offered by other engineering firms in the area. We are also committed to our environmental services, which many engineering firms have brought on as an afterthought due to demand but don’t appear to get equal footing in their business structure. Another thing that sets us apart is our commitment to efficient operation and customer service. We have found that many engineering firms that were started many years ago still run their operations similar to the way they were run 20 years ago. We are committed to new thinking and technology that allows us to better serve our clients.
A: Since we have both been working in the area for several years we have developed good relationships with a lot of clients and local government officials. Our customer base consists primarily of contractors, home owners, local governments, architects, real estate agents, other engineers and developers.
A: We wanted to be in a convenient location to reach our job sites quickly and have our office space easily accessible to our clients. Dillon has a great local town feel and we can get anywhere throughout Summit County pretty quickly or easily jump on the interstate to head west to job sites on the western slope. We have jobs as far away as Aspen and Meeker, but our primary market is Summit County and we found what we needed in Dillon. Our office location is also very convenient for both of our commutes from Wildernest.
A: Right now and throughout the winter we plan to work with just the two of us and focus on getting the word out about Gore Range Engineering. Once the busy construction season starts up in the spring we may decide to bring on employees depending on our work load. We want stay small and efficient, but we also pride ourselves on quick turn-around and great customer service. If the work load gets to be too much for the two of us to handle and still keep our customers happy, we will hire additional employees.
