I-70 Mountain Corridor Coalition launches program to steer mountain travelers to local business
The I-70 Mountain Corridor Coalition is partnering with the business community to provide Interstate 70 travelers with incentives to avoid driving during the weekend peak travel times.
The goal is to lessen the demand on I-70, and in doing so, direct travelers to local businesses, according to a coalition news release. Businesses are invited to participate in the program by listing a “Peak Time Deal” on GoI70.com.
“I-70 is in high demand only at certain times,” said Margaret Bowes, the coalition’s program manager, in the release. “GoI70.com offers a travel forecast, travel trips, real time information resources and more to help visitors plan a delay-free trip to the mountains.”
Businesses may advertise deals on http://www.GoI70.com at no cost, the release stated. In addition, the Colorado Department of Transportation’s mobile application also will promote peak time deals through its location-specific, text notifications.
