IKEA planning fall 2011 opening in Denver-area
Swedish furniture retailer IKEA today said it has hired contractors and obtained a work-site permit for its planned store in Centennial.The company said it is aiming for a fall 2011 grand opening.The update comes as welcome news for fans of the retailer, which in 2008 announced its plans for the Centennial store. The company at the time was mum about an opening date and there had been little word about any progress.IKEA said in a statement that it has retained Centennial-based Saunders Construction as the construction management firm.Other Colorado firms involved with the store include: CLC Associates for civil design; Kimley Horn Associates as traffic consultants during the approval process; Ground Engineering providing environmental analysis and geotechnical services; Otten Johnson Robinson Neff & Ragonetti serving as local counsel; real estate brokerage firm Legend Retail Group assisting IKEA in the site selection process; Geothermal Systems of Colorado installing the geothermal component, and Miller Global selling the land.Read more: http://www.denverpost.com/ci_14685111#ixzz0iMdPH7Td
