CASA of the Continental Divide needs volunteers

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers advocate for children who are victims of abuse and neglect in the 5th Judicial District which includes Clear Creek, Eagle, Lake and Summit counties. They are appointed by the judge and speak on behalf of the children involved in these cases with the goal of finding them safe and permanent homes as quickly as possible. We continue to see an increase in the numbers of children we serve so the need for volunteers is critical.CASA’s winter volunteer training will be an independent study with two group trainings held today and Feb. 16. Volunteers are ordinary citizens doing extraordinary work for children – no previous experience is required. Children with a CASA volunteer spend less time in foster care and are more likely to have their cases closed permanently. We want these children to have safe productive lives like we desire for ourselves, our children and grandchildren. Therefore, we are encouraging all who are interested in becoming an advocate for these children to please call the CASA office in Dillon at (970) 513-9390. For more info about CASA check our Facebook page at or our website at http://www.mtncasa.orgIf anyone is interested in being involved with CASA to help with special events, fundraising, public relations, technology etc. but not available to be a CASA volunteer, we welcome you to become a member of Friends of CASA . If you are unable to give of your time, please consider donating financially . All donations are tax deductible and may be made online(see link on Facebook page) or donated by phone.
