Cash donations welcome for Adopt an Angel toy collection

Now in its 15th year, Adopt an Angel is a toy-collection program put on to serve families that would otherwise not be able to provide holiday gifts for their children.

The gift distribution event is set for Dec. 17 at the Silverthorne Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

According to Silverthorne Police Department spokeswoman Veronica Nicholas, checks can be donated to the toy drive too. She said volunteers inventory donated toys, separate them by age groups, and then additional items are purchased to fill in the gaps.

“What we found in previous years is people love shopping for babies,” Nicholas said. “Older kids aren’t getting shopped for as much.”

Money can be dropped off at the Silverthorne Police Department. Checks should be made payable to the Town of Silverthorne, Adopt an Angel.
