Cast your vote for Kerry

Susan SnyderSilverthorne

So Dwight George (SDN, Oct. 27) thinks that the president’s faith has transformed him from a bad boy to a humble man.Personally, I see him as an alcoholic king who has replaced the bottle with his personal, warped version of fundamentalist Christianity, without addressing the real issues of his substance abuse. He is so blinded by his own faith that he is way out of touch with reality. The man says that God talks to him and guides him through his decisions. So, then it must be safe to ask if the largest re-appropriation of wealth this country has ever experienced is a true, Christian practice.Just why did Jesus throw the money changers out of the temple? And how does one explain the selfish destruction of the environment, the constant lies, the bullying of other nations and willfully sending our young men to a certain death?George wrote, “Biblical Christianity is a faith that cares for every individual and concerns itself with the greater common good.”That is true, but the president’s version is far from it.He said, “You’re either with us or you’re with the terrorists.”Amazing, but that doesn’t leave an option for those of us who choose not to be co-dependent.Fifty percent of the people in this country will not be threatened by that man, myself included.I have already cast my ballot, in good conscience, for John Kerry.
