The Colorado Department of Transportation will add additional services for its Snowstang bus route between Denver and Copper next month to test demand from riders.

Snowstang provides round-trip travel between Denver and several ski resorts along the Interstate 70 corridor in an effort to reduce ski traffic congestion. The coach bus, which departs from Denver’s Union Station on weekends and Monday holidays, seats up to 51 passengers and is equipped with Wi-Fi and restrooms.

Round-trip travel to each resort is usually only offered once per day, with one bus departing in the early morning and returning after resorts close around 4 p.m.

But officials plan to add a second bus for the Copper line on Jan. 11 and 25, providing riders with an additional departure and return option. On those days, buses will depart from Denver at 6:25 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. and leave Copper at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

“This is a great opportunity to test out additional service in January, when we typically see an influx of winter enthusiasts on the roads,” said Division of Transit and Rail Director Paul DesRocher, in a statement.

Round-trips will cost $25 for adults, $18.75 for seniors over 65 and $12.50 for children aged 2-11. Tickets booked through Dec. 29 will be eligible for a 25% discount. More information can be found on CDOT’s website at RideBustang.com/snowstang-mountain-service/.
