Celebrate Frisco’s birthday Sunday

FRISCO – Frisco is serving free ice cream as a part of their 123rd birthday celebration Sunday.

The town is hosting a free ice cream social from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the Historic Park. The Summit Concert Band will perform from noon until 1 p.m. The Stanleytones, a bluegrass band will follow, from 1 to 3 p.m. Their red hot pickin’ and dynamic vocal harmonies blend bluegrass, blues, country, honky tonk and gospel music into their own unique style.

Redtail the Mountain Man will spin tales of the mountain lore of yesteryear from noon until 3 p.m. Throughout the afternoon, the Frisco Historical Society will sponsor games for kids and adults, including a wheelbarrow race, sack race, watermelon eating contest and a watermelon seed spitting contest.
