Chamber music festival raises $1,000-plus

The Alpenglow Chamber Music Festival opened its fifth season Aug. 18 with Scholarship Night at the Raven, which raised more than $1,000 for a new scholarship.

“The monies will be dedicated to a Summit County high school student graduating next June who plans to major in music,” Alpenglow boardmember Brain Edney said. “To the best of our knowledge, this is the only scholarship in the county devoted specifically to a student majoring in music.”

Tickets are still available for the formal concerts, Friday and Sunday, at the Silverthorne pavilion. For information, call (970) 468-4774.
