Charges filed in fatal Vail crash

VAIL Charges have been filed following an Aug. 25 accident on Interstate 70 that resulted in the death of 34-year-old John Quinby, of Hudson, Colo. Denver Foster, 33, of Canon City, Colo., has been charged with careless driving causing bodily injury or death, a misdemeanor.Last months accident occurred when Quinbys van hit a fuel truck driven by Foster as the truck was attempting to use the emergency turnaround near the East Vail exit. A third vehicle, also headed westbound, then collided with the van.At the time of the accident, Foster was working for Canon City-based A&S Construction on the Department of Transportations I-70 paving project.
