Chief thanks voters

The Board of Directors, firefighters, and support staff, both career and volunteer, wish to sincerely express our appreciation to the voters that turned out in a record number for the May 2 election to authorize the inclusion of the Snake River Fire Protection District into the Lake Dillon Fire Protection District. Both questions, one pertaining to the inclusion and a second on dissolution, were overwhelmingly approved by a margin of 89 percent and 88 percent respectively. Those who have served and been a part of both the Lake Dillon and Snake River Fire Protection Districts during the past 25-plus years, especially the many volunteer firefighters and board members, can be extremely proud of their service and positive impact they have had on the community during a period of steady growth and transformation. The Lake Dillon Fire Protection District is committed to providing excellence in service through maximizing the value and the depth of experience of the combined resources from both districts. We are prepared to build on the success of this election by taking Lake Dillon Fire Rescue to the next level through the public safety services we deliver and the planning we are engaged in to meet the future needs and continued growth in the District.
