Clothes for Kansas collections in Wal-Mart parking lot

After last week’s devastating tornados that ripped through Kansas, a number of Summit County folks are organizing a “Clothes For Kansas” drive through next Friday, May 18.A semi-trailer provided by Western Distributing of Denver will be parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Frisco this week, and collections of clothes, food and other supplies will begin to be collected Friday at 2 p.m. Please do not try to donate until that day and time.Organizers are mainly looking for gently-used or new clothing to send to the battered region, as well as other non-perishable supplies like bottled water, canned food, toilet paper or other like supplies. Please do not donate your hand-me-down used clothing.Cash donations will be turned around to buy supplies to fill the truck, which will depart for Kansas on Friday, May 18.Volunteers are also needed to take collections through next Friday, so if you can help out, or would like more information, call Tim Koch at (970) 389-8786.
