Coker is Asset Builder of the Month

Nominated by Linda Aichinger - Third-grade teacher at Silverthorne Elementary School

I would like to nominate Robin Coker for Asset Builder of the Month. I have had Rob’s son, Coy, in my classroom now for second and third grades.

Rob is an excellent parent, who is committed to helping his sons and other children succeed academically and socially. During our second- and third-grade years, Rob volunteered to come in an read with reading groups, help during writing time, help during classroom parties, field trips and special Spanish activities.

He has volunteered on overnight trips to Estes Park with our fifth-graders. His moral views are proudly displayed and taught as he works with children one on one and as a group.

This year Rob also volunteered his time to coach Optimist Soccer and one of our school’s third- and fourth-grade boys basketball teams.

He never lost sight of the real goals of the program by promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play with his players.

Alexis Fernando Moschetto, a student at Silverthorne Elementary, had this to say about Mr. Coker, “I look up to Mr. Coker because I like to play basketball and he is my coach. I have learned how to shoot baskets. Mr. Coker taught me how to pass the ball. He makes me feel good.”

Rob has provided a very positive and fun experience for his players. We are all lucky to have him give energy and time to our Silverthorne youth.
