Colo. Springs angler dies after falling in lake

DENVER – A 46-year-old Colorado Springs optometrist who was ice fishing died after falling into a reservoir.

The El Paso County sheriff’s office says a hiker reported finding a body Sunday at Nichols Reservoir near Colorado Springs. Authorities identified the man Monday as Tony Ikehara.

Authorities say Ikehara apparently fell into the water while fishing Saturday. They say he was able to pull himself from the water and toward the shore, but succumbed to the cold.
