Two Summit School District schools received District Awards from Colorado Department of Education on May 16 at a ceremony at the Colorado State University Spur Campus in Denver.
Frisco Elementary earned the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award for 2023, which recognizes schools that demonstrated exceptional student growth over time.
“What an incredible honor for our Frisco Family. Our talented and hard-working staff never stops looking for answers and creating a warm and safe environment for our students,” Principal Todd Kirkendall said.
Snowy Peaks Junior/Senior High School received the High School Academic Growth Award for 2023, recognizing academic growth in reading, writing and math.
“This recognition reflects what’s possible when a team of educators relentlessly believes in students and gives them the space and support to become the best version of themselves, academically and personally,” Principal James Smith said. “We are tremendously thankful that the Colorado Department of Education has recognized the efforts of our students and staff.”
