Colorado Fire Protection Association benefit at Arapahoe Basin

The Colorado Fire Protection Association has a benefit event scheduled for March 4 at Arapahoe Basin. Proceeds go to The Children’s Hospital Burn Camps Program – every $1,000 raised will cover the cost of a child to participate in the summer’s week-long camp.

The event begins at 9:30 a.m., with the last team heading out at 3:30 p.m. if the teams sell out. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

Teams of five space evenly along a length of fire hose and hold it while skiing or snowboarding through a 15-gate giant slalom type course. Each team member is wearing a bunker coat and fire helmet. Each team does two runs and the lowest combined time wins the trophy.

Entry fees range from $100 to $1,000, and don’t include tickets – discounted tickets of $40 are available. Entry forms and payment must be received by March 1.
