Colorado foreclosures set record in 2007

DENVER ” New numbers show Colorado’s housing industry continues to skid as foreclosures rose 40 percent last year.

The Colorado Housing Division says in a report released Wednesday that nearly 11,000 foreclosures were filed in the fourth quarter.

The state says about 40,000 foreclosures were filed for all of 2007, which is 11,400 more than the record set in 2006.



The total is up 190 percent since 2003.

The division says the highest number of foreclosures were in metropolitan Denver and in Weld and Pueblo counties.
