Conference is an educational and business-networking opportunity for anyone interested in affordable housing issues in the Rocky Mountain West.- What workshops are offered at the conference? There will be 35-40 workshops offered that cover housing finance, tax credits, TABOR, fundraising, rental housing, advocacy, etc.- How many people usually attend the conference? At the 2004 conference in Steamboat, over 450 individuals registered for the conference.- What’s included in my conference registration fee? Included in your registration fee are a conference notebook which contains a list of all registrants, a comprehensive resource directory for affordable housing, the conference program; three breakfasts, two lunches, two receptions, the Eagle Awards Dinner, entertainment, attendance at workshops, including the preconference workshop, attendance at group and speaker functions.- Who organizes and presents the conference? The Colorado Housing NOW! Conference is planned and presented by volunteers throughout the area. They work with a conference coordinator to organize the event. Anyone who is interested is encouraged to participate in the Conference Planning Committee. – Where will future conferences be held? The 2006 Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 17. to Friday, Oct. 20 at the Vail Cascade Resort and Conference Center in Vail. Colorado Housing NOW! 2005 Conference speakers Sarah Michel, Pathways, Inc. – Michel is known as a high-energy, humorous and interactive speaker teaching real-life strategies that inspire action! She is an international speaker, trainer and facilitator, helps people identify personality patterns including career satisfiers, problem-solving styles, innovative thinking and communication preferences to produce the “electric charge” experience that happens when we make a new connection between people, opportunities and ideas. Stacey D. Stewart, President and CEO, Fannie Mae Foundation – Stewart, leads the country’s largest foundation devoted to affordable housing and community development issues. Judith Bell, President, PolicyLink – Bell leads development of projects focused on equitable regional development policy to enhance the health, income and assets of the poor.
