Colorado Mountain College must be doing well with golden parachute, tuition break

I am happy to see that Colorado Mountain College (CMC) is one of the bright spots in the economy.

First, there was the huge golden parachute to the departing director. Now, it is able to support offering lower tuition to children of illegal immigrants.

I’m confused that we would charge out-of-state tuition to a legal resident of, say, Arizona, but offer reduced tuition to the children of someone who is here illegally.

Am I missing something? Perhaps having students in a classroom who have limited English comprehension skills somehow will enhance the experience for the rest of the students.

I have no quarrel with trying to help assimilate the growing Hispanic population, but who at CMC has the authority to grant special favors to people who, legally, shouldn’t be here in the first place?
