Colorado State Patrol advises drivers to be safe as more pedestrians come out for Halloween festivities

Colorado State Patrol is warning drivers to be more aware of their surroundings as Halloween festivities continue over the next week.

State patrol officers are encouraging drivers to slow down and scan the road vigilantly while driving through any neighborhood or busy downtown areas. According to a news release from the patrol, this is particularly important on a high-pedestrian night filled with children that may or may not be practicing safety skills, like using a crosswalk or crossing at an intersection.

Colorado State Patrol is also asking parents to talk with their children ahead of festivities about safe pedestrian habits.
