Colorado teaching license fees to rise in March

The Associated Press

DENVER – The Colorado Board of Education has decided to raise the fee for teaching licenses from $60 to $80, starting March 1.

The fee for one-year substitute teaching authorizations will rise from $30 to $40, and it will be $20 instead of free for teachers to renew added endorsements on their licenses.

Interim state Education Commissioner Robert Hammond says fee increases are needed to reduce a sometimes months-long backlog in processing license applications.
