Colorado Wildlife Commission meets today in Silverthorne

The Colorado Wildlife Commission will hold its next regular workshop today at the La Quinta Inn in Silverthorne. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. and is open to the public. The Silverthorne La Quinta is located at 560 Silverthorne Lane. Commissioners will continue discussions regarding possible expansion of previously proposed pilot licensing programs, which are designed to examine creative approaches to specific issues facing wildlife managers. The initial pilot program proposals focused on pronghorn management east of Interstate 25 and public access for elk hunting in game management unit 10 north of Rangely.Commissioners will also receive an update on the work of the state’s Roadless Areas Review Task Force. Recommendations from the DOW Habitat Stamp Working Group will also be presented. The upcoming Great OutdoorsColorado (GOCO) budget will also be detailed for Wildlife Commission members. – Daily News staff report
