Community forum on health set for Jan. 12.

How healthy are we as a community? What are the strengths and weaknesses of our health care delivery system? Hear answers to these and other questions from a panel of experts at a forum on health and health care in Summit County presented by Our Future Summit at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12 at the Frisco Recreation Building, located at 110 S. Third Ave. in Frisco.Panelists will include Paul Chodkowski, administrator at the St. Anthony Summit Medical Center; Deborah Crook, director of Summit County Public Health Nursing; Dennis Flint, CEO of High Country Health Care and Dr. Barbara Leffler, a licensed psychologist practicing in Frisco.Dr. Don Parsons, president-elect of the Colorado Public Health Association and a Dillon resident, will serve as moderator. According to Dr. Parsons, Summit County faces new challenges as it begins to provide comprehensive in-hospital care for the first time in history. “What are the remaining gaps in care, our future needs, and how will we plan to face them?” he asks.Those interested in submitting questions or comments in advance of the forum are invited to submit them to Members of the audience will also have opportunities to query the panelists during the event.Attendees are encouraged to arrive anytime after 6:30 p.m. to enjoy complimentary refreshments. Our Future Summit is a non-partisan organization formed by local citizens to identify concrete ways to improve life in the county by providing a voice for a wide range of ordinary citizens whose opinions may not otherwise be heard.
