Community forum scheduled for governor’s Interbasin Compact Committee proposal

From 1-4 p.m. on Friday at the Glenwood Springs Community Center, the Interbasin Compact Committee aims to get community feedback on the report the committee sent to former Gov. Bill Ritter and Gov. John Hickenlooper.

Committee director John Stulp said he’s looking to get input from the greater water community beyond the roundtable discussions already under way.

“My goal is to have enough information on this framework that we can have a productive conversation at the March 3 Statewide Roundtable Summit to improve the document with a geographically and politically diverse group of people in the room,” he said in a press release.

At the meeting, participants will go over the committee’s framework, participate in a survey that will focus the discussion, and then have small group discussions on framework elements.

Written feedback can be provided online at http://bit.ly/e6jNFR or by e-mailing viola.bralish@state.co.us. Comments are due Thursday.

The Statewide Roundtable Summit is slated for March 3 at the Doubletree Hotel in Denver, though participants at the Summit are expected to also participate in a community forum first. Registration for the Denver event is $25 for non-roundtable members. Register at http://bit.ly/hS7RmK.
