Allard to hold town meeting today
SILVERTHORNE – U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard, R-Colo., will hold a Summit County town meeting from 1:30-2:30 p.m. today, at the Silverthorne Town Hall in the town council chambers.
“I want to extend an invitation to everyone in Silverthorne, Frisco, Dillon, Breckenridge and Summit County to attend a very informal community meeting,” Allard said. “This is a chance for citizens to visit one-on-one with me about issues important to them.”
Allard is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, where he chairs the Strategic Forces Subcommittee; the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, where he chairs the Housing and Transportation Subcommittee; the Senate Budget Committee; and the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
The meeting is part of Allard’s pledge to hold at least one town meeting in each of Colorado’s 64 counties annually.

Join a homecoming celebration for Jim Melvin
Jim Melvin was injured in a car accident March 23. He has been hospitalized in Denver and Craig since his accident and is just returning home.
Everyone in the community is invited to welcome Melvin home at a party to celebrate the event.
A potluck lunch is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 1 at the Silverthorne Recreation Center community room. The Universally Famous Rocket Surgeons will play live music.
Stephen C. West Ice Arena to be closed for maintenance
BRECKENRIDGE – The Stephen C. West Ice Arena will be closed from June 2-8 to accomplish a variety of preventive maintenance and general repairs. The ice arena will re-open June 9 with its summer schedule of activities and public times.

Kids fly-fishing clinic June 7
BRECKENRIDGE – Breckenridge Outfitters fishing guides are hosting a free fly-fishing clinic for kids 8-18 from 9:30 a.m. to noon June 7 at the Riverwalk Center.
Guides will offer instruction in casting, entomology (bugs), fly-tying and river systems with discussions on water conservation and angling etiquette. The clinic will be followed with a free lunch at Fatty’s Pizzeria.
The guides will provide equipment. Other information and sign-up is available online at breckenridgeoutfitters.com. Those interested in attending should register soon, as there is limited space in the clinic.
