Confusion is expected in tragedies

RE: Gary says fire Bush, fire them all (SDN Sept. 12)I disagree with your recent Summit Daily article about the government’s response to Katrina. No, I don’t think we were prepared. And yes, the response should have been better. But in general, people have to stop expecting someone else to take care of them. We cannot blame others for our own lack of common sense and preparedness. I guess it’s a Democratic Party thing. Tax dollars cannot train people to have common sense. This storm and its damage was immense. Confusion is to be expected. I don’t know how you would have handled it any better.
