On Saturday, June 8, Copper Mountain Resort had helicopter operations taking place on the mountain in order to remove the old lift towers from the Timberline Express chairlift, making way for the new lift which will be constructed this summer.

Located on the western side of the mountain, Copper has partnered with Leitner Poma in order to upgrade the lift from a four-person chairlift to a high-speed, six-pack chairlift. The upgrade is predicted to greatly increase the lift’s uphill capacity.

The chair replacement is a continuation of the resort’s Western Territory expansion and once complete, will increase access to some of Copper Mountain’s most sought-after intermediate groomed terrain. The new lift is set to debut during the 2024-25 winter season.
