Copper Mountain Resort opens to athletes

On Saturday, Oct. 22, Copper Mountain Resort officially opened to athletes, with Alpine ski racers making their first carves on Copperopolis.

On Nov. 14, the resort will have its official opening day, marking the 50th anniversary of the ski area. Over the next few weeks, the U.S. Alpine Ski team will arrive at Copper Mountain to utilize the resort’s U.S. Ski Team Speed Center and Alpine Technical Center to fine-tune their speed and prepare for the 2022-23 Alpine World Cup season, according to a release from the resort.
