Although the summer season just got underway in Summit County, Copper Mountain Resort is already looking toward its annual Union Peak Festival in September.
Like previous years, the Union Peak Festival will feature free live musical performances, an art hub, athletic activities and community gatherings. The headlining musical acts this year will be Third Eye Blind and The Roots.
Third Eye Blind, an iconic alternative rock band, will take to the main stage on Friday, Sept. 5. Since 1997, San Francisco’s Third Eye Blind has had 10 best-selling recordings, produced two live releases and assembled one career retrospective selling 12 million records worldwide.
The next day, on Saturday, Sept. 6, The Roots will take to the stage for a memorable performance. The Roots are known for a jazzy and eclectic approach to hip hop featuring live musical instruments.
If the band’s name sounds familiar it is because The Roots currently serve as the in-house band on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” All music performances are free to attend and are presented by High Noon and the Play Forever Foundation.
Prior to the concerts each day, Copper will offer activities like a high-Alpine 5K race, a Woodward Rail Jam, yoga and brunch and more. To learn more about Union Peak Festival, visit CopperColorado.com.
