Copper Mountian brings back Snow Day Pass
summit daily news
With new snow dusting ski slopes across the county, Copper Mountain announced Tuesday the return of the Snow Day Pass for the 2012-2013 season.
The product, in its third year at the ski area, is $99, and allows pass holders unlimited lift access at Copper Mountain any day that the mountain receives 4 inches of snow or more.
“As the most recent storm system approached, we thought it would be the perfect way to usher in the new snow,” said Austyn Williams, spokeswoman for Copper Mountain. “Everyone deserves a snow day and the Snow Day Pass caters to just that.”
The Snow Day Pass is an add-on product to any ski resort season pass, that will be offered for a limited time.
“At this point we don’t have a set date of when it will go off sale,” Williams said.
So far, Copper Mountain has received 38 inches of snowfall this winter season. The ski area has received 6 inches since Tuesday, making the first official snow day Wednesday.
Since Dec. 12, Copper has received 15 inches of snow boosting acreage to 363 acres and 34 trails currently open.
“The Snow Day Pass opens the door to check out Copper Mountain and beat the lines when it matters most, on a snow day,” Williams said.
Copper Mountain averages 30 snow days each season and with upcoming snow in the forecast, the Snow Day Pass gives guests the best bang for their buck this winter.
The report is based on the previous 24-hour period and an official snow day will be announced the morning of the valid day.
Guests can access official snow day information at http://www.coppercolorado.com starting at 5:30 a.m., or by signing up for the Copper Mountain Daily Mountain Report, checking out the Copper snow stake cam or following the mountain through social media.
Even if it doesn’t snow 4 inches in a day, the price will pay for itself with the offering of two free days.
With the Snow Day Pass, Copper offers two guaranteed bonus days of skiing or riding on Superbowl Sunday, Feb. 3, and closing day, April 14.
“If guests are not able to make it to Copper Mountain on days with 4 or more inches this way the Snow Day Pass is still worth the value of two tickets for the price of one,” Williams said.
The Snow Day Pass is available for purchase online or in person at any guest services location at Copper.
