Join Copper in celebrating the spirit of Thanksgiving by supporting Advocates for Victims of Assault through participation in the first annual Gobbler Chase Snowshoe Fun Run/Walk Saturday.The participation fees will be donated to the charity. The chase is a two-mile fun run/walk that starts and finishes in Burning Stones Plaza and has leftover Thanksgiving treats along the course. Registration is between 10 a.m. and noon in Burning Stones Plaza. Cost to participate is $10 and includes a goodie bag and a chance to win raffle prizes. Snowshoe rentals are available for $6 from The Fall Line in The Village at Copper.In the Copper action, professional and amateur skiers and riders are invited to compete in the Left Over Yam and Jive Turkey Rail Jam in the American Eagle Jib Park on Friday. The rail jam is free and will offer cash purse awards for the top three competitors in the men and women categories including a $250 prize for first place, $150 for second place and $50 for third. Additionally, Copper heats up on Saturday when En Fuego returns. Also planned are a torchlight parade and a fireworks show over Copper Mountain.
