Copper skier dies after hitting tree Sunday

FRISCO – The Summit County coroner says a 56-year-old skier has died from head injuries after hitting a tree at Copper Mountain.

The coroner’s office in Frisco says the ski patrol responded to the report of an injured skier around 11 a.m. Sunday and Denver resident Randy Schnicker was rushed to St. Anthony’s Summit Medical Center in Frisco by ambulance.

He died an hour later.

The coroner’s statement say Schnicker was wearing a helmet.
