Coroner: body is missing Woodland Park woman

COLORADO SPRINGS – A body found behind a school is a Woodland Park woman missing since Friday.

Dr. Earl Byrne of the Teller County coroner’s office said Wednesday that the woman is 33-year-old Mindy Lee. Her body was found behind Woodland Park High School Wednesday morning.

Byrne says the body was frozen. He says she likely died late Friday or early Saturday.

No information on the possible cause of death has been released.

Lee disappeared after friends say she jumped out a truck near the high school in the community northwest of Colorado Springs. They say the searched the area but couldn’t find her in the dark.

Deputy police chief John Gomes says the body was found near a storage shed by an officer searching for Lee.
