Country’s reliance on fossil fuels continues to show wrong priorities

Boy, the first line in the article about renewable energy said it all: “Power companies helped kill a bill in a Senate subcommittee that would have increased renewable energy in Colorado.”

Instead of finding solutions to this country’s reliance on fossil fuels, power companies would rather see our country go to war in Iraq, sending our military (mostly young people) into hazardous and hostile situations and drill in our National Wildlife Refuges.

What will it take before we, as a country, begin to explore alternatives to fossil fuels? What will it take before people realize that the bottom line, dollars and cents, aren’t always the top priority?
