County Commissioner Wallace hospitalized

FRISCO – Summit County Commissioner Bill Wallace was admitted to Vail Valley Medical Center Thursday with a pulmonary embolism. He is expected to be back in Summit County Sunday.

Wallace said his leg was hurting him and a CAT scan later revealed a blood clot near his knee. The clot had broken into three pieces and traveled to his lungs.

Wallace said Thursday was a “very scary day,” but to see the ambulance – and not the coroner – pull up to his house was a great relief. He plans to take life slowly until he recovers.
