Crews work to finish containing fire near Boulder

BOULDER – Firefighters are working to finish containing a wildfire in the foothills west of Boulder.

The fire was 80 percent contained Monday.

Fire managers say the final stretch of containment lines are the most difficult to build because the terrain is steep and rugged.

The fire has burned 622 acres. All evacuated residents have been allowed to return to their homes.

Authorities have said the blaze was caused by people but they haven’t said exactly how it started.
