Dillon Valley man appears in Summit County Court on latest stalking charge
A Dillon Valley man appeared Tuesday, April 8 in Summit County Court for a bond hearing in what is the latest case in which the defendant faces felony charges related to stalking.
Gordon “Scott” Siriano appeared in Summit County Judge Edward Casias’ court with public defender Dana Christiansen. Siriano faces two counts of violating bail bond conditions, a Class 6 felony, and one count of violating a protection order, a misdemeanor.
Siriano also faces stalking charges in three separate and active cases in Summit County District Court. A permanent protection order is in place in those cases, which states Siriano is prohibited from making contact with his ex-fiancée and any members of her family.
The latest charges were filed after Siriano was arrested last month and charged with violating the terms of the protection order when he entered Skyline Cinema 8 in Dillon, where his ex-fiancée’s daughter works one of the cash registers in the lobby, according to court records.
Bond in the latest case was set at $7,500 and Siriano appeared Tuesday free from custody. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 4 p.m. May 27.
Fifth Judicial Deputy District Attorney Mark Franklin is prosecuting Siriano on the three previous offenses, which occurred between September 2012 and February 2013 in Summit and Eagle counties. Given the similarity of the charges, the court granted a motion to consolidate the cases prior to Siriano’s February district court trial, which ultimately ended in a mistrial.
Given the nature of the most recent allegations and the fact that they also were perpetrated against the same cast of characters, Franklin said last month he plans to file a motion to have the new charges lumped in with the existing three cases. That motion would require district court approval before Siriano’s next jury trial, scheduled to begin Monday, June 9.
A status conference on the previous three cases is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17 in district court where Siriano currently is charged with two counts of stalking, a Class 4 felony; one count of violation of bail bond conditions, a Class 6 felony; and seven counts of violation of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
The case is being tried before 5th Judicial District Judge Karen Romeo.
