GYPSUM — Police are searching for two suspects after a shooting that left a person injured in Gypsum on Friday.

The shooting occurred in the area of the Dakota Square shopping area on Green Way in Gypsum, police said. The victim was taken from the scene in an ambulance.

The suspects remain on the loose, said Jessie Mosher with the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects have been sighted in the area, and police are continuing to search the neighborhood, Mosher said. Police are searching for a male and a female. The search area is to the east of Gypsum Elementary School.

All schools in Eagle and Gypsum are on “lockout,” and parents are being asked to not go to the schools until the all-clear is issued.
