CU Cops bust dorm crasher suspect

BOULDER ” University of Colorado police on Saturday were withholding the name of a man arrested and accused of talking his way into female students’ rooms and groping them.

Campus police say they arrested the suspect Friday night on 10 counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of unlawful sexual contact, one charge of physical harassment.

Police had been investigating reports of a man who knocked on dorm rooms at CU last weekend and said he was drunk and needed a place to sleep. When female students helped him, he crawled into bed with them and groped at least two, police said.

Several women reported incidents on Friday and Saturday in Baker, Libby, and Smith Kittredge West residence halls.

CU Police Chief Joe Roy said he was withholding he suspect’s name, age, photo and anything else that might identify him.

“The release of the suspect name and photograph could potentially taint those further investigative processes,” Roy said in a news release. “This information will be released to the public as soon as possible, when the investigative steps have been completed.”
