Curves supports Advocates for Victims of Assault

This holiday season members of Curves, the women’s fitness center in Summit County, are collecting household supplies to benefit the transitional and safe-house needs for Advocates for Victims of Assault.

These basic everyday necessities are essential to women and their children who have left their abusive homes to start a new life.

According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, each year an average of 4 million American women experience serious assault by a partner and three to four are murdered by a husband or boyfriend each day.

Curves will be collecting household supplies including such items as laundry detergent, paper products, dish soap, diapers/wipes, toiletries, and gift cards to City Market, Safeway, Target or Wal-Mart for the Advocates for Victims of Assault through Dec. 22.
