Cutting of trees is distressful

I am extremely upset at the size and number of trees that are being cut down to build the walking trail along Wildernest’s Ryan Gulch Road.

Many of the aspen, fur and pine trees are 12 to 15 inches in diameter or larger.

It would seem that the trail could be designed to go around the larger trees – rather than to cut them down. No trail – in my estimation – is worth destroying the large number of trees that have already been destroyed. It takes so many years to grow these large, beautiful trees, and what a waste to destroy them for less than a good reason.

And, I do not consider myself a radical tree-hugger.
