Dam Road to close Thursday

SUMMIT COUNTY Dillon Dam Road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday for a U.S. Forest Service project to remove hazard trees along the roadway and rec path.Work crews will be felling dead trees along the road and recpath, and removing them out of travel lanes. The Road & Bridge and Open Space & Trails Departments regret having to close the road and recpath, but this closure is essential to provide a safe working environment for the crews and also to protect road and recpath users, said Brad Eckert, Open Space and Trails Senior Resource Specialist for Summit County. The road and recpath will be opened as soon as the crews complete felling the trees and removing them to safe locations”.Signs will be posted to inform the public of the closure. All public access is prohibited.The work is part of the United States Forest Service Heaton Bay Hazard Tree Removal Project.
