Dan Bell talks trash

BRECKENRIDGE – Dan Bell wants to talk trash – and he’s willing to buy lunch for people who want to join him.

Breckenridge’s assistant public works director is hosting a trash pickup from 10:30 a.m. to noon May 1 for merchants interested in cleaning up the areas around local businesses.

“We want to have an impact on getting the town cleaned up,” Bell said. “We don’t get tons of trash, but it’s in very visible areas. Also, in the past, our parks and street department has had to shoulder the burden of cleaning up everyone’s trash. In doing Trash Talk with Dan, we’re trying to show people the extent of the problem and make people aware of the work public works is doing.”

Areas Bell and his volunteers plan to clean up include around businesses and the Riverwalk.

Those who can’t make the meeting can call Kami Sullivan at (970) 453-3170, and public works employees will drop off trash bags and pick them up when they’re full.
