Dance Cuba! performance canceled in Vail

Because of new and unexpected processing requirements for visas by the United States government, Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba! will be unable to travel to Vail to appear at the Vail International Dance Festival. The company was scheduled to perform Aug. 8-11.

Three internationally recognized dance troupes will replace Dance Cuba! The New York City Ballet will present a preview evening with the Paris Opera Ballet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8. Hubbard Street Dance Chicago will combine theatrical jazz, modern and classical ballet technique to create an unparalleled artistic style at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. In place of the Dance Cuba! family matinee, The Massenkoff Russian Folk Festival will feature traditional Russian folk dancers, Balalaika musicians and colorful costumes at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11.
