‘Dark Knight’ curse continues

Although their movie “The Dark Knight” is a huge hit at the box office (earning more than $400 million to date), it seems that the cast members haven’t been as fortunate. Heath Ledger’s death in Janu ary was a somber and unfortunate event, and some people think his conflicted role as the Joker prompted his drug overdose. Now fast-forward to the movie’s release three weeks ago which coincided with Christian Bale’s arrest for allegedly assaulting his mother and sister in London. The incident supposedly started over money, grew to insults, and ended in a shoving match.

According to the complaint filed, Bale, who had previously refused to give his sister $200,000 that she requested, shoved his mother after she insulted his wife. Bale is out on bail and no charges have been filed against him.

The most recent castmate to run into trouble is Morgan Freeman. Late Sun day night, Freeman crashed his Nissan Maxima while driving in a rainstorm in rural Mississippi. Apparently the actor lost control and his car went off the road and overturned several times before landing upside-down. Freeman and a female passenger were airlifted to a Memphis hospital where the actor had to undergo emergency surgery.

“Morgan is doing well after his sur gery last night to reconnect nerves and repair damage in his left arm and hand,” said his rep in a statement Tues day night. Let’s hope this marks the end of the Batman curse.

Sarah Jessica Parker was always unlucky in love on her show, “Sex and the City,” yet her personal life always seemed intact and picture perfect. She’s been married to actor Matthew Broder ick, aka Ferris Bueller, since 1997 and the couple have a 5-year-old son, James. They’ve always seemed happy on the rare occurrences they’ve been photographed together, but maybe they were just acting. It seems that they’re facade has been uncovered. Star maga zine is claiming that their marriage has been in trou ble ever since he had a two-month affair with a 25-year-old NYC youth counselor while Parker was filming the “Sex and the City” movie last year.

Since the magazine broke the story last week, more and more sources are revealing the truth behind their marriage, mainly that it’s more platonic than romantic and is only still cohesive because of their son. Maybe the black wedding dress Parker wore on their wedding day was a bad omen?

Nothing makes me feel more pathet ic than hearing Forbes’ list of Top Earn ing Young Celebs. Though I don’t really know who most of these people are, it seems that if you’re young enough and tune in regularly to the Disney Channel, than this list should inspire you. Tied for No. 1 on the list is “Hannah Mon tana’s” Miley Cyrus, 15, and Harry Pot ter’s Daniel Radcliffe, 19. They each made $25 million last year which is quite astonishing for a girl who doesn’t even have her driver’s license. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, who are more known for their nightlife than anything else, each made $15 million due to their retail empire that has been in place since they were toddlers. The rest of the list includes Disney’s Jonas Brothers ($12 million), who I always hear about but still don’t know why they are so popu lar, and High School Musical’s winning threesome Zac Efron ($5.8 million), Ashley Tisdale ($5.5 million) and Vanessa Hudgens ($3.2).
