David Blessing dies at 65

Part-time resident David Blessing died June 10, 2004, while on a trip to Hamburg, Germany. He had homes in Silverthorne and in Florida. Blessing had a long career in aviation and traveled the world as a captain for Delta Airlines. He also had a parallel career flying in the Air Force Reserve, from which he retired as a brigadier general. He was an avid ski racer and was active for years with the masters series races and airline ski race competitions.His was born Dec. 12, 1938, and went to college at the University of Syracuse.He leaves behind his brother, Norman, his sister Sheila and her husband Michael Randall, and many fine friends. He was very close to his nieces and nephews, Jay, Cyndi, Glen, Beth, Jennifer, Rebecca and Jonathan. Blessing will be buried in Ft. Lauderdale, June 26. Arrangements are being coordinated by Sheila and Mike Randall who can be reached at (801) 521-8026.A viewing will be held June 25 at the Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 718 South Federal Highway, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316.
