David Magee: VR employees underpaid?

As a past employee of Vail Resorts I find it a little offensive that Gov. Hick calls Vail Resorts an “emblem” for Colorado. Nothing against Gov. Hick, but my brief experience as a Keystone employee by choice wasn’t one I’d call an “experience of a lifetime” – unless considering that any job after working there just gets better. I’m not writing this because I want to vent, but merely because the public should know that some employees are overworked and underpaid. I worked for a very poorly managed department; one that yielded stressful work conditions and ultimately very low employee moral. H.R was unresponsive when my fellow co-workers and I expressed our concerns. There is no management strategy of employee retention, although I worked in a position considered year-round. I often-meet people around town that have shared the same experience, and this makes me want to share my story even more.
