David Sedaris returns to Breckenridge for reading, book signing
BRECKENRIDGE — NPR humorist, comedian and best-selling author David Sedaris will once again make an appearance in Summit County for a night of wit and stories. The evening with Sedaris will feature all-new readings from his work, a Q&A session and a book signing before and after the show.
“For years, Sedaris has shared the most personal parts of himself — his readers growing and changing equally with his mutable topics and wit,” Lisa Holenko, owner of co-presenter Next Page Books and Nosh, said in a news release. “Just like his writing, surprising and hilarious, David Sedaris gives you a new perspective on the seemingly ordinary and absurd aspects of being human.”
Over the years, Sedaris has authored best-selling collections such as “Me Talk Pretty One Day,” “Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim,” “When You are Engulfed in Flames” and “Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls.”
According to the release, Sedaris’ 2018 collection “Calypso” features the “you don’t want to know” aspects of human life: the gross facts and stories that fascinated people as kids and probably even more so as adults. “Calypso” has topped the Indie Bestseller List in nonfiction for months.
The event is from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the Riverwalk Center, 150 W. Adams Ave., Breckenridge. Tickets range from $45 to $65 and can be purchased at breckcreate.org or by calling 970-547-3100.
