Deadlines nearing for candidates, voters in local municipal elections

SUMMIT COUNTY – As 2010 election campaigns pick up steam, local residents will vote to elect town leaders April 6.

Nomination petitions for municipal elections are due by Friday, and eligible voters must establish residency to vote by Sunday and be registered by Monday.

On April 6, Breckenridge, Silverthorne and Dillon will have polls set up while Frisco’s ballots will be mailed out by March 19 – to be returned by 7 p.m. on April 6.

People on the county’s mail-in ballot list can expect to receive ballots by mail.

Elections on the county, state and national level are to occur Nov. 2.

Precinct caucus day is March 16, with county assemblies occurring between 10 and 30 days later.

The primaries are scheduled for Aug. 10.
