Dear Denver Water

I really want to take the time out of my busy “terror-free” day, to thank you and all your board members for finally putting a stop to all the car traffic along the Dam Road. It has been my experience that, although convenient, Dillon Dam Road was nothing but a nuisance.

Hey, while your at it, perhaps you can do something about Interstate 70, Highway 6, Highway 9 and Swan Mountain Road. They are clogged with travelers, and they pose as much of a threat as the Dam Road did. Since you and your cronies couldn’t point to any specific “credible” threat that caused the closure, then it stands to reason that any thoroughfare that borders Dillon Reservoir or transports possible terrorists to the reservoir should be suspected as a possible threat. Therefore, by closing all of these roads, you can be assured of protecting your reservoir.

What are you really hoping to gain by this decision? I only wish the good people of Summit County could have seen the future when old Dillon was flooded. The inhabitants were ripped from their homes and relocated up the hillside in preparation for Denver’s growth. Perhaps they could have made it clear that the road was never to be closed except when hazardous conditions exist. They, the Towns, Summit County and all the current residents are forever disrespected by this egregious decision.

P.S. Since you found it in your heart to disclose this information to us, I must come forward and disclose some information to you. I confess to: swimming in Dillon Reservoir, skiing on Dillon Reservoir, bathing myself and animals in Dillon Reservoir, and going No. 1 in Dillon Reservoir.

Phew, I feel so much better.
